Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein who has revealed that the Government will make amendments to the Internal Security Act (ISA) and the Police Act, particularly on the right to hold assemblies. The amendments will be tabled in the October 2009 Parliament sitting with the possibility of approval in the December sitting. He also revealed that the other Acts that will be amended include the Multimedia and Communications Act, the Restrictive Residence Ordinance Act (RRA) and the Emergency Ordinance Act (EO).

Ahli Parlimen Kelana Jaya, Gwo-Burne Loh ingin menuntut penjelasan daripada Kementerian Pelajaran mengenai peraturan baru selepas transisi kabinet yang membenarkan ahli-ahli politik dijemput menghadiri majlis rasmi di sekolah.
Saya ingin merujuk kepada akhbar Sinar Harian halaman S28 bertarikh 13 Ogos 2009 bertajuk; ‘Hari Kantin SMK Bandar Sunway Perkukuh Hubungan Ibu Bapa, Guru’ di mana Anggota Jawatankuasa Kerja Pusat MCA, Loh Seng Kok hadir merasmikan Hari Kantin Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Bandar Sunway baru-baru ini.
Menurut maklumat yang diterima, pihak Kementerian Pendidikan telah pun mengeluarkan memorandum kepada pihak sekolah untuk tidak membenarkan ahli-ahli politik memasuki dan menyertai majlis rasmi.
Adakah kehadiran atas jemputan SMK Bandar Sunway kepada seorang Anggota Jawatankuasa Parti Politik yang dinyatakan di atas menunjukkan bahawa arahan sedemikian telah pun diubah?
Sebagai Ahli Parlimen, saya menerima keluhan daripada banyak PIBG yang tidak dibenarkan mengundang saya bagi program-program yang mereka anjurkan. Oleh yang demikian, mereka juga menuntut penjelasan daripada pihak kementerian.
Saya mendesak agar satu arahan yang jelas dikeluarkan kepada pihak sekolah mengenai arahan sedemikian.
