RE: LAUNCHING OF FUNDRAISING “TERATAK” CD ALBUM WITH DATUK SERI ANWAR IBRAHIM

We would like to invite you to the launching of our thanks-giving and fund-raising project named “Teratak”. Unlike the normal fund raising dinner events, we have instead come out with a series of songs and a mini album. After working long and hard on this project, we have reached the point where we can present our work to the public.

Other than performances by Gwo-Burne and Danny Tan, we are proud to involve the talents of the Wayfarers, comprising the family of YB Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad; also, the multi-talented YB Elizabeth Wong and YB Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

There will be question and answer session with those involved in the project, and also preview of the songs, as well as other activities. YB Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim, YB Ronnie Liu, YB Tian Chua, YB Gwo-Burne Loh and other distinguished guests will be present at the launching.

PELANCARAN CD ALBUM “TERATAK” CD ALBUM BERSAMA DATUK SERI ANWAR IBRAHIM

Kami ingin menjemput saudara/saudari ke pelancaran projek “Teratak” yang bertujuan untuk mengumpul dana dan ucapan terima kasih. Projek ini berbeza dengan program pengumpulan biasa di mana lazimnya diadakan majlis makan, malam, kami berhasrat untuk menghasilkan satu siri lagu melalui sebuah album. Selepas berhempas-pulas sekian lama ke atas menjayakan projek ini, kami telah mencapai sati titik di mana kami mempersembahkan kerja-kerja kami kepada masyarakat umum.

Selain daripada lagu yang dinyanyikan oleh Gwo-Burne dan Danny Tan, kami dengan bangganya menjemput kumpulan Wayfarers, yang terdiri daripada anggota keluarga YB Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad; bersama, the YB Elizabeth Wong dan YB Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim yang sudi mendendangkan lagu di dalam album ini.

Kami akan adakan sidang akhbar bersama mereka-mereka yang menjayakan projek ini, dan pra-dengar daripada lagu-lagu dari album ini, disamping aktiviti-aktiviti lain. YB Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, YB Ronnie Liu, YB Tian Chua, YB Gwo-Burne Loh and jemputan-jemputan lain akan hadir pada pelancaran ini nanti.

Dear Friends from the Press,

YB GWO-BURNE LOH IS LAUNCHING A THANKS GIVING & FUND RAISING MINI SONG ALBUM, FEATURING ANWAR IBRAHIM

As a thank you for the support, understanding and forgiveness from everyone, we are presenting to the public a series of 4 songs. All songs are performed by our crew of Gwo-Burne Loh, Danny Tan and co, featuring the Wayfarers, YB Elizebeth Wong and YB Dato Anwar Ibrahim. All these songs are original works from our group, and we have worked long and hard to create something that we hope will bring some joy and happiness to everyone. While we accept that we cannot give everyone something of monetary value, without making ourselves the most debt laden persons in the world. We can however give you the sincerity of our hearts. Therefore with severely limited resources, we worked long and hard to deliver the best we can deliver, with the tools available to us. We hope that these songs will be able to provide a short period of bliss and laughter, and bring us to a beautiful past, a brighter future or make us appreciate the present just a little bit more.

Concept
The Title for the project is “Teratak”, which means hut, and represents the humble home, or in our case also represents the family unit. The Chinese name to the project is “jia” which also means home and family. As the name suggests, the project centers around the family institution. It is a tribute to home and family; it is a tribute to Asian, Malaysian values. We would also like to encourage optimism and a never say die attitude.

Personnel
Mr. Danny Tan, Graduated in 1995 from a University in Taiwan. Immediately after which he released a successful Album in Taiwan. One of his songs was picked as the ending theme for one of Taiwan’s premier variety shows. Since then he returned to Malaysia and started his own successful food business. After leaving the Music industry for 15 years, Danny’s love for Music remains undiminished. He also feels a strong sense of social responsibility, and would love to contribute something to society, which led him to be involved in this project. Danny is the writer of the Title song of this project, which has a Malay and Chinese version.

Gwo-Tynde Loh is responsible for all the art direction, as well as the designing work for “Teratak”. This includes all the designing work for the CD Sleeve, the website and all the other materials.

Gwo-Burne Loh wrote one of the songs and also wrote the segment for Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s solo in Teratak. He was involved with almost everything from recruitment, planning to photography etc.

The Wayfarers are a very talented Acapella family group, working to share good values through their singing and performances. They are also the proud family of YB Dr Dzulkefly.

YB Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim took time from his very tight schedule to not only rehearse for his part in the project, but also offered important advice and direction for the project. He also helped out with the Lyrics of the title song.

Availability and Launch:
The Songs will be made available free for download after the official launch on the 25th of January 2011, 7:30pm at Subang Parade. Souvenir CDs will be given as sign of appreciation for Donations. Please attend Launch for details.
