Dear Friends from the Press,

YB GWO-BURNE LOH IS LAUNCHING A THANKS GIVING & FUND RAISING MINI SONG ALBUM, FEATURING ANWAR IBRAHIM

As a thank you for the support, understanding and forgiveness from everyone, we are presenting to the public a series of 4 songs. All songs are performed by our crew of Gwo-Burne Loh, Danny Tan and co, featuring the Wayfarers, YB Elizebeth Wong and YB Dato Anwar Ibrahim. All these songs are original works from our group, and we have worked long and hard to create something that we hope will bring some joy and happiness to everyone. While we accept that we cannot give everyone something of monetary value, without making ourselves the most debt laden persons in the world. We can however give you the sincerity of our hearts. Therefore with severely limited resources, we worked long and hard to deliver the best we can deliver, with the tools available to us. We hope that these songs will be able to provide a short period of bliss and laughter, and bring us to a beautiful past, a brighter future or make us appreciate the present just a little bit more.

Concept
The Title for the project is “Teratak”, which means hut, and represents the humble home, or in our case also represents the family unit. The Chinese name to the project is “jia” which also means home and family. As the name suggests, the project centers around the family institution. It is a tribute to home and family; it is a tribute to Asian, Malaysian values. We would also like to encourage optimism and a never say die attitude.

Personnel
Mr. Danny Tan, Graduated in 1995 from a University in Taiwan. Immediately after which he released a successful Album in Taiwan. One of his songs was picked as the ending theme for one of Taiwan’s premier variety shows. Since then he returned to Malaysia and started his own successful food business. After leaving the Music industry for 15 years, Danny’s love for Music remains undiminished. He also feels a strong sense of social responsibility, and would love to contribute something to society, which led him to be involved in this project. Danny is the writer of the Title song of this project, which has a Malay and Chinese version.

Gwo-Tynde Loh is responsible for all the art direction, as well as the designing work for “Teratak”. This includes all the designing work for the CD Sleeve, the website and all the other materials.

Gwo-Burne Loh wrote one of the songs and also wrote the segment for Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s solo in Teratak. He was involved with almost everything from recruitment, planning to photography etc.

The Wayfarers are a very talented Acapella family group, working to share good values through their singing and performances. They are also the proud family of YB Dr Dzulkefly.

YB Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim took time from his very tight schedule to not only rehearse for his part in the project, but also offered important advice and direction for the project. He also helped out with the Lyrics of the title song.

KENYATAAN MEDIA AHLI PARLIMEN KELANA JAYA, GWO-BURNE LOH PADA 5 JULAI 2010

Di dalam aspek pertahanan, Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia (TLDM) sekarang mempunyai hanya dua kapal frigat kelas Lekiu yang bermampu beroperasi dengan anti-ship, anti-air dan anti-submarine dan kesemuanya beroperasi dalam satu kapal.

Memandangkan Malaysia mempunyai kawasan laut yang luas 614, 000 kilometer persegi, 4490 km panjang persisiran pantai dan menpunyai 561 pulau, dua kapal frigat sememangnya tidak mencukupi untuk mengawasi perairan kita.

Walaupun TLDM mempunyai dua buah Kasturi-class corvette dan empat Laksamana-class corvette, tapi kapal-kapal tersebut tidak setimpal dengan Frigat sebenar. Lagipun, dua Kasturi corvette yang dinyatakan itu telah mencecah umur matang dan tidak mampu berfungsi dengan sepenuhnya. Kasturi corvette kini sedang di dalam projek Ship Life Extension Program dan tidak dapat beroperasi dalam jangka masa berapa tahun ini.

Menurut maklumat yang diperolehi, TLDM sedang membina enam kapal peronda generasi baru (NGPV) dan bercadang membeli Frigat baru. Pada 2006, Kerajaan telah bagi LOI (letter of intent) kepada British BAE System untuk membina dua kapal frigat baru yang dipercayai akan menelan RM 5 billion. Oleh kerana kekangan ekonomi negara, projek ini telah ditunda, dan LOI itu juga sudah luput.

Menurut sumber, syarikat tempatan Boustead Naval Shipyard telah bercadang mereka satu kapal frigat untuk TLDM. Projek ini mengguna NGPV tersebut sebagai dasar, tetapi memanjang dengan ukuran dari 91meter ke 112 meter. Projek ini dipanggil FFG 112 dan dikatakan telah dicadangkan kepada TLDM. Sekiranya cadangan ini diterima, kerajaan memerlukan RM 5 billion yang mana ianya dibelanja di dalam negeri, bukan membeli dari luar.

Oleh itu, saya berharap agar pihak Kementerian Pertahanan lebih berhati-hati dan bertindak tegas dengan sebarang sumber kenyataan yang melibatkan kementerian terutama sekali dalam pembelian perkakas perang.

Soalan yang saya bawa ke pengetahuan Menteri Pertahanan di Dewan Negara pada 8 Jun 2010 adalah seperti berikut:

TUAN GWO-BURNE LOH [KELANA JAYA] minta MENTERI PERTAHANAN menyatakan apakah pendirian kerajaan terhadap projek frigat “ FFG 112” yang dicadang oleh Bousted Naval Shipyard. Apakah kesusahan dan kebaikan menggunakan NGPV untuk dibangunkan sebagai Frigat.

Jawapan yang diterima Menteri Pertahana adalah seperti berikut:

Kerajaan tidak pernah menerima sebarang cadangan projek frigat “ FFG 112” dari Bousted Naval Shipyard dan Kementerian juga tidak menyenaraikan projek frigat untuk perolehan dalam RMK-10.

Kapal Peronda Generasi Bagu (NGPV) sedia ada boleh ditingkatkan keupayaan berdasarkan konsep fitted for but not with kapal tersebut. Cabaran yang paling utama peningkatan NGPV adalah kemampuan peruntukan kewangan oleh kerajaan.

Sekiranya berjaya, NGPV akan berkeupayaan menyamai frigat untuk menangani peperangan 3 dimensi iaitu permukaan, udara dan bawah permukaan.

Pautan yang berkaitan dengan gambar yang gambar ketiga ialah FFG 112 yang dicadang oleh Boustead Naval Shipyard.

Press Statement

To quash misunderstandings and rumours about me quitting PKR both within the party and beyond, I would once and for all inform voters and supporters in my Kelana Jaya constituency in particular  and Malaysian community at large that there is no truth in it. This speculation, as I myself have heard it several times during the last few months, has not only affects my work environment but also disturbs my personal feeling because there are many people calling me to enquire if this may be factual. I would like to state with no unclear terms that I have no intention to quit PKR, enclosed is a photograph which was taken only few days ago on the 28th January 2010 where our beloved PKR president Dato’ Seri Wan Azizah was sitting next to me as guest of honour for my < Chinese New Year Charity Show For The Needy > held at Sunway Pyramid. I hope this statement will put to rest the unfound rumours.

KONFLIK PENJELASAN POLIS, PEGUAM NEGARA DAN MENTERI DALAM NEGERI MENGENAI  PELABURAN BERUNSUR PENIPUAN ‘AIRKU’

Ahli Parlimen Kelana Jaya, Loh Gwo-Burne akan mengadakan sidang media berhubung dengan perkembangan kes yang dihadapi oleh mangsa-mangsa pelaburan produk ’Airku’ yang melibatkan mangsa kerugian beratus ribu.

Semua wartawan dan jurugambar dijemput untuk hadir ke majlis sidang media tersebut.

In the wake of the release of the report of the task force confirming allegations of sexual abuse of Penan women and girls, we – concerned citizens of this country – greet Malaysia’s 46th birthday with a renewed sense of outrage. We are gravely disturbed over not only the status of the Penan girls and women whose rights were violated, but also over how their situation reflects the overall state of the affairs of the Orang Asal: the Orang Asli of Peninsular Malaysia and the indigenous peoples of Sabah and Sarawak.
